FAQ about festival tickets
I'm racing, do I need to purchase a festival ticket?

No, your race ticket has a three day festival ticket included in the price. Just bring it to the gate.

Are kids free?

Yes all children under 14 can claim a free festival ticket on the tickets page.

What about parking?

If you’re not camping you’ll need to let us know that you need a car park space by booking a free ticket here. You won’t be able to park up without this ticket.

I'm a local do I need to purchase a festival ticket?

No, we're giving free tickets to all people who live within the Swaledale and Arkengarthdale area. You can claim a free ticket by visiting Dales Bike Centre or the Reeth post office with proof of address.

Ard Rock was free for non racers before, why charge now?

For the last few years we have earnestly resisted charging for non-competitor entry but unfortunately increased production and infrastructure costs have made it unavoidable, and we need to ensure that Ard Rock remains sustainable. In 2018 we stated that we’d have to ticket the festival because more and more non racers are visiting to ride bikes, hang out and listen to live music. We need to know that these people are coming, and we need revenue to ensure that we can accommodate and entertain them and at the same time run the festival safely and securely. To give perspective, a three day ticket for Ard Rock is £15 and our headline band usually charges £20 per ticket for a 2 hour gig – Ard Rock is great value!

I'm marshalling at the event, do I need a festival ticket?

We're giving marshals free tickets for the festival and camping. So if your partner/friend is racing and you're helping out at the event you'll get a free camping pitch for both of you.

Camping Pitches

Camping at Ard Rock is available on site from 1800 on Thursday 2rd August, and you can stay until Monday morning. There are two Camping options at Ard Rock 19 which are standard camping and family camping and both have toilets and hot showers included in the price. The family camping area is a five-minute walk away from the main event village in a quieter area which has indoor facilities. You must book camping in advance as space is limited, especially in the family camping area.

The family camping fees remain the same for 2019 at £15 per pitch per night.
A standard camping pitch for one vehicle and up to four people is £15 per night for the first two nights and discounted £10 for the third night and £5 for the 4th night. Whilst we are trying to encourage car sharing we understand that some people may have to travel alone, therefore we're offering a single occupancy pitch discount of -30%.

Camping Rules
You can stay overnight in a tent, motorhome or caravan

You can only park one vehicle on one pitch

Please show your camping ticket on entry so that it can be scanned, no ticket, no entry

You must display your ticket in the front window of your vehicle at all times

A pitch is a maximum of 8x6m

A maximum of four adults can camp on one pitch

Showers and Toilets are included

There is no electric hook up available
Please bring your own drinking water, we cannot guarantee the quality of the natural springs

Under 18’s require adult supervision at all times

Metal framed awnings are not permitted on the campsite for safety reasons

Dogs are allowed but must well behaved and on a lead at all times

Strictly no fires and BBQ’s or naked flames for safety reasons

Ard Rock is not responsible for any misplaced, lost or stolen items

The speed limits in the campsite is 5mph

Campers are expected to behave in a manner that is courteous to other campers at all times

Please leave your camping pitch free of any litter

The event is in a residential area, No noise in the camping fields after 11 pm

No arrivals after 2130

Campers must vacate the camping fields by 10am on Monday

Camping FAQ

Are showers included in the price?

Yes we have moved away from pay per shower units and all showers will be free to use.

Can I have a fire?

Unfortunately fires are not allowed for safety reasons.

Last year standard camping was £5 per person per night, why are camping prices per pitch this year?

In 2018 we charged per pitch in the family camping area and we found that it was a lot easier to plan space and facilities. Paying per pitch does make it slightly more expensive for people travelling alone which is why we have offered a single pitch occupancy discount. We know that most people come to Ard Rock in groups and we are hoping that this new system encourages people to car share which is better for the environment.

Have camping fees increased since last year?

For a single person traveling and camping alone it will be slightly more expensive to occupy a pitch (if you didn't use the showers last year), but for two or more people camping will now be better value when free showers are taken into consideration.

Do you have glamping options?

Glamping is usually provided by another company. Unfortunately we can’t find a supplier that charges a price that we think is acceptable at the moment. If we do find anyone we’ll send the info out to our mail list.

Can I put two tents on my pitch?

Yes as long as there’s only one vehicle. Pitches are 8x6m maximum.

Can I dispose of my rubbish before I leave?

Yes we’ll have skips available. After the event the skips go to a recycling plant.

How did I manage to purchase a camping ticket before the 12th?

OK we messed up and made the ticket page that we were testing live. Your tickets are still valid but you might have paid a few quid more for them because we were still fiddling with booking fees and prices. If you have, please get back in touch with Gigantic and we'll refund the difference.
